Abortion is the process done by a certified doctor in which a fetus is being terminated by suction. Having an abortion is exactly the same as taking a life away. Majority of the females that choose abortion are teenagers from the ages of fourteen to eighteen. There are females under the age of twenty-four who also choose abortion. Majority of the females that choose abortions are almost always unmarried.
I think that abortion should have parental consent. Teenagers do not have the responsibility of deciding whether or not to have the child. They are not capable of financially nor mentally stable to support a child. As long as the teenager lives with their parents, then the parents have the right to know. Taken in consideration that some parents are more harsh and strict than others, they should still be allowed to have that knowledge of actions taken by the teen.
Parents play a major part in the teen's life. Majority of the time the parents are busy maintaining their jobs. They should get more involved with their teens. The parents can be a major influence on the things that the teen decides to achieve. Neglecting can seriously effect the teen. Parent support can be very effective in achieving trust from the teenager.
Many believe that a fetus is a living being, some believe that the fetus is not living till they are fully structured. I believe once the egg is fertilized, it is a living being. Termination of the fetus is equivalent to murdering a child. Abortion is even worse than murdering someone. The baby doesn’t even have the chance to live life. You are basically killing him/her, before he/she is even born. Unable to experience life.
Female teenagers have responsibilities. Females that are sexually active should be using contraception. Birth control pills are highly effective in preventing pregnancy. Though it is not used to prevent HIV, AIDS, or sexually transmitted diseases. Condoms are also a highly effective in preventing pregnancy. It is good for preventing HIV, AIDS, and STD. Other contraception are also effective. Sexually active females have the responsibility to use contraception every time.
Starting a family is a decision that isn't suppose to be made at the moment, but thoroughly thought out. Having a baby will change one's life drastically. Parenting is a difficult, but extremely rewarding experience that requires both patience and strength. Sometimes it is better to think things in other peoples position. For example, you are the parent. Your teen is going through a time in their life that would change them drastically, would you want to have the knowledge about it and support them? Or would you want to know nothing about it?
