Some women constatly have unprotected sex, get pregnant, and then have abortions. In this process they not only cause harm to themselves, but they are also taking the lives of innocent children. In the first trimester all of the babies organs are developed. Some women do not even know that they are pregnant in their first trimester. In the second trimester a baby can see and hear. Technically it is a living, breathing human being. Depending on the amount of money a women is willing to pay, she can terminate her pregnancy as late as her sixth month. At this time a child has a chance of living on it's own. This is murder. "You made your bed, now lie in it." In this case she must be good at laying in beds. A women should not be able to terminate a life because of her own irresponsibility. I myself have know women who get pregnant, have an abortion, get pregnant, and have an abortion again. I don't know how you could be so careless in this day in age when there are so many different types of contraceptives avalible. That is why I feel it should be illegal for repeat offenders to freely go about aborting babies. It is just another way to help them continue to dodge responsibility. Everyone has to own up sometimes.
On the other hand treacherous crimes are committed every day, and life doesn't always go as we plan. The 50 year old mother of 8, the woman that was brutaly raped, the 13 year old girl who is only a child herself, and the woman dying of AIDS, These are the women that deserve the right to choose. They shouldn't have to suffer, and bring a child into this world that will only suffer itself. Besides, their rights as Americans gives them freedom of speech, freedom to choice. This is when you stop and think, "should we really band abortions?" There are enough unwanted children in this world, why should there be more. Wouldn't it be better to stop a problem before it escalates.
Looking at both of these points, how can one truley pick a side on the issue of abortion. Depending on the circumstance, one should always have the right to choose, after all it is their life. But when do you call it murder, and when can you say it is simply a justified at. this is an issue which I feel will continue to be argued throughout the ages. To abort, or not to abort, that is the question.
