I believe that going to a restaurant should always be an extra ordinary experience. The whole point at least for me when I go out to eat is to enjoy myself and whoever I'm with. I want to be able to sit down and get great service, tasteful food in a environment that suits my mood at the moment. If I can't get all of that I might as well stay home and cook myself.
I have found many restaurants that live up to all of those expectations but I will only tell you about one. The restaurant that I have chosen is a thai restaurant with the name KAI KAI, and it is located in the East Village on 78 East first street, between first avenue and avenue A. The first thing that I noticed about KAI kAI when I walked in was the atmosphere. The place felt so calm and relaxed. KAI KAI is very small and intimate, only about ten tables. The walls are open brick walls and the furnitures are in dark wood. There are candels on every table wich for me is very important, it feels a lot more coxy and intimate when you don't have a bright light in your eyes. KAI KAI plays a very nice background music, usually a littly jazzy, very relaxing without being boring. It is never to loud and you can always have a conversation and be able to hear what you are saying. There are only two people who wait on you but you never have to wait very long to get your food.
The food is very good. I love thai food and I have tried many different restaurants, but this place is a place that I always come back to. They serve anything from yummie soups and salads til different entrees with your choice of chicken, pork, beef, seafood and duck. The prices are very reasonble, you can get a delicous entree with charcoal grilled shrimp and vegetebles for under $10. KAI KAI get extra points for being a restaurant were you can bring your own bottle of taste.
The only bad thing that I can think of when it comes to KAI KAI is the size of the restaurant. Since the size is so small you can never be sure to get a table right a way. It's also hard to come there with a big company. Regardless of its size, KAI KAI is a restaurant where you will get great service, and delicous food for a great prize. It doesn't matter if it's a first date, anniversity or dinner with friends, you will leave this place with a great food experience. Bring your own bottle of wine, sit down, relax and enjoy the delicous food.
