METAL GEAR SOLID 3
Metal Gear Solid 3 is a game for play station 2 and it’s like a time machine that brings you back to the 1960s, commando style. The setting is a jungle, and you’re a soldier fighting against enemy troops. This jungle adventure requires stealthy decisions and quick reaction in order to combat and defeat enemy troops.
This game lets you use a variety of weapons from knifes, machine guns, to bombs used for blowing up your foes. What is really great about this game is you have to have a really great strategy. For example, it requires smart use of camouflage as you blend into the background to sneak up to your enemies. When I played this game for the first time I was surprised by the use of a alligator suit that let you basically get as close as possible to the enemy, before blowing them up into bits.
The background for this game was extremely realistic, thanks to the high quality graphics. Animals such as gators, frogs, birds, and even bugs give you the sense of wildness. With all the different terrains you feel as if you were always in a new place. Intense fire fights with villains keep players trigger happy (for full effect a PS2 accessory gun is needed), and you have to untangle a plot that has a lot of twist and turns.
This is one exciting game, but it’s also takes a lot of time and effort to flip the game. Due to the prolonging and my short attention span, I haven’t finished the playing the game yet. You would have to come up with strategies, look for clues, weapons, and find the enemy. It’s pretty difficult.
Over all I like this game a lot and not just because of the high tech graphics, but because it kind of teaches you the tactics of combat without actually going into a real war.
