Dear Professor Clark,
Hello Professor, my name is Celina Padilla and I am a student who is currently majoring in Multimedia Art. I find that writing a great hobby for me because I enjoy expressing myself, it’s also a great therapy tool, and maybe this is why I haven’t gone insane yet. The main reason why I want to study Multimedia Art is because I find computer art fascinating. I never realize how much work goes into a successful website. Maybe one of the reasons why I want to create such site is so I can show everyone what I am made of. Practically every home in this day in age has a computer with an internet connection. I find it extraordinary how technology can connect you to anybody or anything in the world with just a simple push of a button.
In this class, I have learn that it’s important to give details, and also be prepare to back up what you believe in. I learn it is important to check your facts and remember who your audience is. You should always keep in mind of your readers because you want to make sure they understand your writing and acknowledge your points/views. This portfolio explains about my thoughts and my views. .
I want you to read and grade only one of my papers, because I think it represents my best work. I will include a description of my best paper, why I think it's good, what I learned from writing it, and how it changed from one version to another.
Prayer In Schools - Position Paper - Celina--This is the paper I am submitting to be graded for my final portfolio. This paper talks about my own personal position against prayer being forced to perform in school. I feel this piece is important because it is something I believe in and I am glad that I am able to express my reasons and I am able to back them up.
Here are some other papers I have written this semester. Please feel free to read them if you have the chance, but they will not be submitted for my final grade. Thank you.
Personal Narrative - Celina Padilla- This piece is just as important as the one that I have submitted to be graded. It is about myself and some of the struggles I have face in high school and how my lies have caught up with me. The reason why I haven't submit this paper is because I feel it is missing something and I haven't found out what yet.
Who Am I?
Hello, my name is Celina and I am currently majoring in Multimedia Arts. I was born and raised in the Bronx, and I live with both my parents and my two younger sisters. My family on the other hand was both born in Nicaragua, Central America. I do not have any children, but like most people, I wish to have a family someday when I feel that I am ready. Right now I only want to concentrate on supporting myself and my family before I go out into the world and start my own family. Someday I would like to visit my country, mainly because I want to experience for myself where my family had grown up. I love it when I see the expressions my father face when he describes his childhood in his homeland. His eyes sparkle with such enthusiasm, and he describes it with such vivid detail, that I can actually see it when I close my eyes.
This is my third semester in Borough Manhattan Community College and I am hoping to transfer to the New York City College of Technology. I enjoy computers very much, so much in fact that I want a career in computers. Whether it's Web Design, Graphic Design, Animation or Advertisement, I find great joy in computer art. I could spend countless hours the computer. I am usually found instant messaging, writing e-mails, playing games, "surfing the net", or doing some research for my father; I can usually find any excuse to just go on the computer. I was dubbed “Computer Freak” in my household, ha-ha.
So the reason why I am in this class is purely simple. It is because, like most college students, are required to take this course in order to graduate. But even if I didn’t have to take English, I would still take it. Mainly because I like English and also because one of my favorite pastimes is to read and write in my journal when I feel like it, but nonetheless I like to wirte. Main reason why I would want to take this class willingly is mainly so I can improve my writing and vocabulary. I love to use big words and make my sisters become dumbfounded.

hey celina this is karma thanx for the word of advise on staying strong to tell you the truth, i've done just that and I intend to keep on going. my future career goal is to be a creative director in music.
