Dear: Prof. Clark

I heard from Prof. Joseph Ugoretz that you are teaching ENG 121 and professor Ugoretz chose you to be the grader of our essays. Let me introduce myself, my name is Andy Lam and I m an international student from Venezuela but my parents are Chinese so I’m trilingual. I finished junior high school in Venezuela and I finished high school in U.S. Now I am in BMCC almost finishing my third semester. I'm majoring in accounting but I'm not really sure if I should stick with it because it's getting kind of stressful looking every time at numbers. I enjoy playing videos games and play sports all the time. I think I need to spend more time reading books to be prepared for classes. But I am doing well in my classes so far.

I feel confident about my writing skills because without confidence I will not be able to write well. I think that my writing is ok but I still need to work on it because sometimes I have problems like developing ideas to make my essays stronger.

Out of all my essays I did in class I want you to grade my critical paper.

Critical Paper-AL-- I enjoy writing this essay a lot because I need to replay one of my old video game to write it; by the way the game is Grand Theft Auto Vice City. I have a good description of the game and some good opinions of the topic. The first version of this essay, I had a little bit of errors in grammar and in my conclusion I needed to be more general in games.

Feel free to look at my other essays, but don't consider it for my grade.

Personal Narrative-AL-- In this paper, I wrote about the history of my hair. I left out some explanations of the problems with hair.

Position Page-AL-- In this one, I take a position on an immigration issue and I’m against it. It is a good paper but I need to support about my position more.

In Class Essay-AL-- In this essay, I wrote about why Toni Morrison urges women “Not to participate in the oppression of your sisters.” But I needed to support more my ideas so it was kind of like a short essay.
